The Walters Art Museum in Baltimore
June 28th 2012
Staircase in entrance.
Isis
I took this visit and mainly focused on the early christian art.
It is interesting and often odd.
Old old bible, notice crucifix inside crystal and the four gospels carved in ivory.
Judith beheading Holofernes
This is the Mother Mary carved from an elephant tusk, and so she "leans" due to the natural curve of a tusk, this became liked and artists started including the lean in paintings of Mary, which came to be known as the "Gothic Sway"
Leprosy
Where the Walters does restorations.
